About Richard Pye

I’m Richard Pye, editor and founder of Headers & Volleys.
The name ‘Headers & Volleys’ is based on the good old fashioned park game appropriated by myself, Gav, Graham and Chris (the Headers & Volleys Board of Directors) most summers between 1990-2002, ‘Sixty Seconds’.
I work as a Client Service professional in London’s media intelligence industry and am somewhat obsessed with football. In case you hadn’t got that impression from the blog already.
Headersandvolleys.co.uk was started to provide me an outlet for my views and opinion and was born in part from conversations discussed with The Board in The Crosse Keys pub, Bank, London. I’m delighted to say that the site has since developed and we now use content from over 15 guest writers, nationwide.
My love affair for football has spanned many years and numerous exotic locations such as Layer Road, Highbury, Brisbane Road, Upton Park, St James’ Park and so on. Glamorous doesn’t even come close.
I felt I might have something to add to the football blogosphere, hence Headers & Volleys. I hope you’ll agree, but if you don’t, tell me why. Then I’ll write a grumpy post about you and get told off by my co-editor.
As well as introducing the thoughts of some new guest contributors, I’m hoping to say something a little different, in a bit of a different way.
If you would like to get in touch, we are on twitter, facebook and even that ancient medium, email – here.
Happy reading.
Rich
